Who We Are

A contractor you can trust, built on experience, relationships, and an uncompromising commitment to delivery.

Our Story

Gunning Construction & Civils (Pty) Ltd was formally established in March 2021, but the foundations of the business run far deeper than that.

Behind the company is a management and field team with over 15 years of collective experience in civil infrastructure — water and sewer systems, road construction, earthworks, and facilities maintenance. Many of our core team members have worked alongside each other for over a decade, across some of the most complex and challenging civil projects in the Western Cape.

We started GCC because we knew we had the expertise, the relationships, and the systems to do this work exceptionally well — and to do it with integrity.  We’re proud of what we’ve built.

But we know the work is what defines us. So we stay focused on that.

What We Stand For

Experience you can feel on site.

Our senior team don’t manage projects from behind desks. They’ve laid pipe, managed crews, navigated community relations, and solved problems in the field. That experience shapes every decision we make.

Relationships that open doors.

We’ve worked in Masiphumelele, Khayelitsha, and Atlantis — areas that test any contractor. We operate effectively in these environments because of the relationships we’ve built with communities and local tradespeople over many years. This is not something that can be shortcut.

Systems that deliver transparency.

We use custom digital forms and cloud-based platforms to capture all field data in real time — from work orders and health & safety records to project finance and quality control. Our clients get accurate, timely reporting and full documentation without chasing it.

A commitment to local economic development.

We actively support local suppliers, engage local labour, and aim to leave communities better off through every project we deliver.
